When I was a little girl, the most interesting thing was sitting beside my father, who is a physics teacher, and watching him repaired some electric appliances. When he opened the rear cover of the appliances, I was always interested in the circuit boards which had countless transistors. When I wanted to touch or open these transistors with electricity off, my father never stopped me, even though I made them a mess. It was an amazing thing for the little girl that these transistors with electricity could make the TV show pictures, the washing machine run, and the receiver sang songs. The most amazing thing about them was that they make the computer to do many things! Although I am not a little girl now, I still have the same curiosity for the computer. So, I choose Computer Engineering as my major. Below I will talk about my background in education, some skills which I have now. Then I will talk about my academic goals of studying and researching the area of the network.

My undergraduate major is physics. I thought physics was a fundamental subject, which would build an excellent knowledge foundation for my pursuit of the engineering program. During   college, I studied some basic knowledge of electronics and mathematics. I studied computer programmers (VB), computational physics and modern information technology in which I obtained good results in the exams. Moreover, I am good at group work and communication. I have worked in high school as a physics teacher in China after I graduated from university. I focused on enhancing the students’ GPA. The job cultivated skills of group work, great communication with others, and strong responsibility of working. I believe all of these skills benefit me to be a good researcher in computer engineering and a computer engineer in the future. In addition, I have been studying some courses in computer engineering. This semester I am studying the Digital System Design and Computer Programming for Engineers (Problem Solving and Program Design in C) in George Mason University. These programs let me better understand the computer and strengthen interest in computer engineering.

In the computer engineering area, I very want to study the network field, because I am very interested in the network, and I believe that the network is very important no matter now or in the future. Now I am working a project with two computer students together, is about network security. As a result, I read and annotate a lot of articles which are written about access control and fake accounts on the social network. With the deep reading and studying, I am more and more interested in the field of network, especially searching the fake account base on analyzing the data of un-verb behavior. Furthermore, the computer has changed, is changing, and will change the world and the way of human life. Nowadays the internet of thing is very popular, I believe almost everything will connect with the network in near future. The network will become more and more important. In this field not only can I study a lot of computer knowledge but also, I can use some knowledge of electronics and mathematics which I study on undergraduate program. I think it suits me.

Last year I studied in INTO Mason, the experience of studying at GMU made me love this university because of the Perfect facilities, Enthusiastic staff and Responsible for rigorous teaching attitude. So, GMU is my best choice to study my Master degree. In conclusion, I very interested in computer engineering and believe this field will become more and more important for our future lives.
